Stephenie stated in her website that there is not meaning of the (ruffled) tulip also known as Estella Rijnveld (not a bloody tulip). Thanks to the internet, doing research is not hard. The meaning of the tulip is, “According to Persian legend, the first tulips sprang up from the drops of blood shed by a lover and for a long time the tulip was the symbol of avowed love.”
-) Taylor Lautner will be reprising his role as Jacob Black. “I have been working out. I’ve been working out since the day we finished filming Twilight. I just weighed myself today; I’ve put on 19 pounds,” the noticeably larger Lautner told MTV news, promising that he’ll be big enough to fit Stephenie Meyer’s physical description of Jacob Black in New Moon when cameras begin rolling in 12 weeks. “I’m guaranteeing Weitz 10 more [pounds] by filming. I get to meet Chris on Friday, in two days, so I’m excited. I’m going to have lunch with him.”
-) 90210 actress AnnaLynn McCord did audition for the role of Heidi (the vampire of the Volturi clan, that rallies the humans for food), and at this point Summit hasn’t released a statement whether she is cast or not. They are in negotiations at this moment.
-) Vanessa Hudgens won’t play Leah Clearwater in New Moon. “I’m not sure about [final] casting, but I had heard Vanessa Hudgens was going up for the part of Leah [Clearwater, a werewolf],” Melissa Rosenberg, who wrote both films, told People at the 61st Annual Directors Guild of America Awards. “But at the moment, the part of Leah doesn’t happen until the third movie.” Some source say that she (Leah) will make a cameo, so people will know she’s Leah when Eclipse hit theathers June 30, 2010. Summit, Chris Wietz or Melissa have yet to confirm this.
-) Solomon Trimble will not be reprising his role as Sam Uley, he released this statement on his official MySpace. My agent heard from Summit Entertainment today that I will not be reprising the role of Sam in New Moon. While I will cherish the experience of being inv olved in the first film, I am looking forward to many new opportunities in the future and would like to thank everyone for their support.
-) Summit Entertainment announced through their Email mailing list that Dakota Fanning has offically signed on to play the role of Jane.
Catherine Hardwicke won’t be directing New Moon, due to the time frame in which the production company wants the film to be released. It didn’t fit Catherine’s ideas for the film and she wanted more time to prepare. It has been confirmed that Chris Weitz (Director of About a Boy, American Pie and The Golden Compass) has agreed to direct New Moon. Chris Weitz won’t be directing Eclipse. Because New Moon, which Weitz is helming, and Eclipse are due to be released so close together, Weitz will be in post-production on New Moon at the same time that Eclipse will be shooting. That said, the source confirms a report that the movies will not be shot simultaneously or back-to-back; there will be a brief gap between the production of both films. David Slade will be directing Eclipse.
Filming is schedule to start in March at the following location Vancouver, British Columbia Canada, and Italy. According to Oregon Business they aren’t fimling in Portland due to the budget. Filming in Canada is cheaper.
According to Summit Entertainment the crew will be taking a 10 week break after the filming of “New Moon” and then get back to filming. Eclipse is schedule to be released on June 30, 2010
At this point no. Stephenie Meyer said that she will take a break from writing, due to the leak of Midnight Sun Edward’s version of Twilight. She also said I do not know yet. There are so many ways to explore, the characters can still evolve. I think Bella has a bright future But I am not working on it at the moment. I need to leave my vampires alone, before starting over. I wrote other stories, I have other ideas. And if I want to see Edward and Bella again , I will go and bother them! She also stated that she would love to go back into the Twilight world, and tell another story in Leah Clearwater’s point of view.
“In the annals of teen girl fandom, could there be any more of a perfect storm than “Twilight” and the Jonas Brothers coming together? I think not, which is why we’re happy to report that the JoBros would totally be down with contributing on the soundtrack for “New Moon,” provided they’re asked.” Brian Jacks

SOS. I think they’ll totally ruin New Moon for me. They’re like so Disney.
What do you think, girls?
Good news about New Moon from director Chris Weitz:
I’m very happy to announce that Taylor Lautner will be playing Jacob Black in New Moon and that he’s doing so with the enthusiastic support of Summit Entertainment, the producers, and Stephenie Meyer.
The characters in Stephenie’s books go through extraordinary changes of circumstance and also appearance; so it is not surprising that there has been speculation about whether the same actor would portray a character who changes in so many surprising ways throughout the series. But it was my first instinct that Taylor was, is, and should be Jacob, and that the books would be best served by the actor who is emotionally right for the part. I think that fans of Twilight the book and the movie will be surprised by the Jacob Black that Taylor will bring to the screen in New Moon; and I’m looking forward to working with him and the rest of the cast in realizing the film.
I’d just like to add that I was very much a part of this decision. My first priority was always what was best for New Moon—what was going to give us the best possible movie. I’m truly thrilled that Taylor was the one who proved to the director, to Summit, and to me that he is the best possible Jacob we could have. And I’m very much looking forward to seeing what he’s going to bring to Jacob’s character this year.
